Loc Tan reviews the work of Steering Committee 57 and sets tasks for the second half of 2026

The conference assessed the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and reviewed results, difficulties and shortcomings in order to set out suitable solutions for the remaining months of the year.

According to the report, in the first six months of 2026 the Steering Committee directed digital transformation tasks in step with administrative reform, the implementation of Project 06 and the "Digital Literacy for All" movement. Building digital government was stepped up: 100% of officials and civil servants use the electronic document management system and digital signatures; all administrative procedure dossiers are received on the administrative procedure information system, with more than 99% settled on time or ahead of schedule; and public satisfaction remains high.

Project 06 and the development of a digital society also achieved positive results. Communication and guidance for residents on online public services, VNeID electronic identification, cashless payments and digital platforms were strengthened. The "Digital Literacy for All" movement continued widely, improving the digital skills of officials and residents and gradually building the habit of using digital technology in study, work and daily life.

Delegates discussed the results achieved and frankly pointed out shortcomings: slow disbursement of funds for science, technology and digital transformation tasks; 5G coverage, the use of personal digital signatures and the development of the digital economy not yet meeting targets; and the need to further promote innovation models and the application of artificial intelligence.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Hoang Manh Thuong asked agencies and units to raise the responsibility of their heads and to review each target and task under the "six clarities" principle, taking concrete results as the measure of success. He also asked them to speed up the disbursement of funds for science, technology and digital transformation; complete data after the reorganisation of administrative units; improve the work of community digital technology teams; continue the "Digital Literacy for All" movement; and make greater use of artificial intelligence at work, contributing to a modern administration that serves residents and businesses better.
The conference agreed on key tasks for the last six months of 2026, focusing on meeting planned targets and promoting science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in line with local socio-economic development.
